BUSINESS ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDY

WHAT IS A CANNOGRAPHY?

A Cannography is a Business Ethnographic study for cannabis businesses.  Business ethnographies are used by some of the most well-known and respected companies in the world, informing functions such as strategy and long-range planning, and helping their business improve the customer experience and ultimately, deliver a superior product or service.

We have adopted an anthropologic approach to unlock that hidden potential in your business’s subconscious. Our BUSINESS ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDY is a business process management and opportunity recognition tool that helps companies reduce costs, improve efficiency, nurture innovation, promote brand assimilation and increase customer value.

GENERAL SERVICE OVERVIEW

Our observational and qualitative notes will be coded into measurable data points for applied analysis, in conjunction with quantitative data collected from the surveys conducted. Our expert consultants will analyze and interpret the data, and then generate a comprehensive JWG BUSINESS REVIEW REPORT with actionable insights so you can make better, more informed decisions about operational performance. Our JWG BUSINESS REVIEW REPORT will include visualizations of the data collected, a written analysis about the story the data reveals, a situation analysis of each sector of the business, and suggestions for improvements to be made based on the findings.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A

BUSINESS ETHNOGRAPHY?

The scope of our BUSINESS ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDY is designed to get under the skin and to the heart of your cannabis business by merging ethnographic qualitative analysis with conventional quantitative analysis. Our holistic and immersive approach utilizes an on-site observational method to understand the nature of how your cannabis business works both internally and externally, and identify areas for opportunity which have gone unrecognized.

The data collection methods used in our BUSINESS ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDY include:

  • Customer Experience Survey

  • Employee Experience Survey + Employee Interviews

  • Review of internal communications

  • On-site observation of daily operations

  • Secret Shopper

  • Website and content analysis

  • Social media engagement

  • Customer review sentimentanalysis

  • Company review response efforts

  • Advertisements and print media

Understanding the nature of your cannabis business, both internally and externally, is a precondition for helping us help you solve current and unforeseen challenges posed by your day-to-day business practices, across all channels and cross-functional departments. The entire organization is considered during our observational analysis including processes, policies, standard operating procedures, customer and employee experience, internal and external communication, and so forth. When it comes to garnering insights from your operations, we look for areas of the business in which process improvement could have the most impact for optimal performance.

HOW DOES THIS PERTAIN TO MY CANNABIS BUSINESS?

The cannabis industry is a complex market environment characterized by a high velocity of change, which means that creating and maintaining an environment for sustainable growth is crucial to the success of your cannabis business. Business sustainability today revolves around the need to generate new value, to unlock new opportunities, to drive new growth and deliver new efficiencies which requires you to rethink how your company creates and delivers value.

Identifying the unique value that differentiates your company from the rest can be an elusive task.

Even after you’ve addressed core challenges such as inventory control, payroll, training, reporting, compliance and customer experience, there still remains hidden potential trapped inside the mind of your business; however, its locked behind untapped technology and processes, customer attrition, changing regulations and little daily inefficiencies that let productivity seep away, and make it difficult for your customers to really get to connect with what's exceptional about your business.

EXPECTED RESULTS

So, what can you expect from the BUSINESS ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDY?  As long as action is taken on the findings of the review as laid out in the report, you can expect to see meaningful business improvements which drive sustainable growth, including:

  • ALIGNMENT: Alignment of the organizational culture and brand assimilation, improve             communications between business units, building an empathetic connection with customers

  • SAVINGS: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase profits

  • EFFICIENCY:  Improve existing internal operations and processes, adopt new practices or         merge into existing practices, streamline or automate processes with new technologies.

  • ENVISIONING:  Predict future services and product offerings, identify trends naturally developing in the industry that will give you a jump on the competition

  • DIFFERENTIATION: Identify insights into company culture, employee and customer engagement and drivers of behavior that can be leveraged as resources for differentiation and competitive advantage.
